World’s First Luxury Space Hotel Slated To Open in 2027.
Global travelers can soon add a replacement destination to their bucket list with the world’s first luxury space hotel expected to open before the top of this decade.
Orbital Assembly Corporation, the group behind Voyager Station, has announced plans to start building the hotel in low Earth orbit in 2025. If all goes to plan, the interstellar resort project has the potential to be operational as soon as 2027.
Renderings of the cosmic hotel are futuristic, featuring individual pods that are attached to rotating, Ferris wheel-like contraption. Aboard the space hotel, guests are going to be ready to enjoy a slew of amenities, including a cinema, a spa , gyms, themed restaurants, libraries and concert venues. Since the hotel is predicted to be in low Earth orbit, the establishment offers Earth-viewing lounges and bars and rooms which will accommodate up to 400 people. Additional necessities like crew quarters, water, air and power systems also will take up some of the space facility.
The company plans to sell portions of the hotel to permanent stakeholders, including government agencies looking to utilize the facilities for training centers or simply to non-public landlords looking to make a dwelling aboard the spacecraft.
The Voyager Station will reportedly revolve around the world every 90 minutes, using the synthetic gravity generated by the circle’s rotation. The Daily Mail received a quote from John Blincow, founding father of Gateway Foundation, which runs a number of the Voyager’s pods, stating, “This are going to be subsequent technological revolution .” He adds that the rotation aspect is “vital” since without gravity, people aren’t viable for space.
